Bright Future for Cosmic Endeavour
The Gai Waterhouse trained Northern Meteor filly Cosmic Endeavour resumed from a spell to defeat colts and geldings in emphatic fashion at Rosehill on Saturday.
Placed fourth twice in stakes races in Melbourne during the spring, Cosmic Endeavour has returned in top order and looks certain to make her presence felt in Black Type events in coming weeks.
“We knew she had good ability but she was overracing. We gave her a spell and this result couldn’t be more pleasing,” Waterhouse said.
“She’s an exciting filly and I think she’ll be winning more races over the carnival.”
The trainer said Cosmic Endeavour will step up in grade as she goes in search of a valuable stakes victory and Waterhouse is adamant her filly will make the grade.
“I love the way she took control of the race and was dominant. She’ll be winning some good races,” she said.
A $230,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Willow Park Stud, Cosmic Endeavour was bred by Catherine Remond and has already won two of five starts earning over $116,000 in prizemoney.
She is the third winner from three to race for stakes-winning Danehill (USA) mare Crevette, a sister to HK champion and Group I winner Fairy King Prawn and half-sister to Group I winner and sire Easy Rocking.
