Debut Winner for Nicconi

 In 2014

The sire of 10 first crop winners last season, brilliant dual Group I winning sprinter Nicconi started the new season with a smart debut winner on Sunday in Saint Hugo.

Prepared by Cameron Templeton, three year-old filly Saint Hugo opened her career at Bairnsdale with an easy length and a quarter win over 1000 metres.

A $10,000 Inglis Weanling Sale purchase, Saint Hugo runs for Epona Park and is the first winner for former smart Melbourne two year-old Tale of Love, a Tale of the Cat (USA) grand-daughter of American stakes-winner Fransicca D’Amour.

Tale of Love has a two year-old full brother to Saint Hugo that made $42,000 at Inglis Premier earlier this year.

Nicconi stands at a fee of $13,200 this year and has a number of promising contenders gearing up for spring headed by Festivity and Nicoscene.
