Fourth Winner for Star Witness

 In 2015

Improving Star Witness two year-old The Barrister scored a tenacious win in the $100,000 Mornington Sires Produce on Saturday for the Jason Warren stable.

The talented chestnut showed the benefit of recent racing when holding off all challengers to score a determined win in the 1500 metre event at his fourth run back from a spell.

A $110,000 Inglis Easter purchase for his trainer from the Widden Stud draft, The Barrister is the second winner for Group III winning Desert Sun (GB) mare Strikeline, who has been a regular at Widden Stud.

She has a yearling filly by Star Witness that will be offered at the Super VOBIS Yearling Sale as Lot 313 by Golden Grove, a colt foal by Nicconi and was covered by the same sire again last year.

The Barrister is the fourth winner for dual Group I winner Star Witness, who also has stakes-placed performers Serenade, Kimberley Star and Pearl Star on his resume.
