Metro Win for Ephemera

Adelaide – 4 August, 2012

The prominent red and white colours of high profile bloodstock investor Paul Fudge’s Waratah Thoroughbreds were carried to victory in Adelaide on Saturday by royally bred filly Ephemera, a $525,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Widden Stud.

An impressive winner at Seymour when resuming from a spell last month, the Peter Moody trained daughter of More Than Ready (USA) was sent across to Morphettville on Saturday for a fillies event over 1000 metres, which proved just to her liking.

Ridden a treat by Linda Meech, Ephemera travelled well throughout and sped away down the running to win by more than four lengths, her overall record now two wins from three starts with the promise of more to come.

Bred by Widden Stud in partnership with Robert Anderson, Ephemera is a half-sister by More Than Ready to Group II winner Running Tall and is the second foal of blue-blooded import Fleeting Touch (USA).

A half-sister to Champion US 2YO Colt and Breeders Cup Juvenile winner Midshipman, Fleeting Touch had a Redoute’s Choice yearling filly sell for $260,000 at Inglis Easter this year to Peter Moody and she is due to foal again to Redoute’s Choice this spring.
