Outstanding Magic Millions Success for Widden Stud

Widden Stud enjoyed outstanding results at the 2020 Magic Millions Yearling Sale with 34 yearlings selling in Book 1 and 2 for $9,560,000 and our flagship sire Zoustar recording an average of $272,222.

Zoustar had 27 yearlings sold with a colt from Saga of the Storm fetching $900,000 for Newhaven Park when bought by Ardross Bloodstock and a Lime Country Thoroughbreds consigned filly from Gliding making $600,000 to the bid of Paul Moroney Bloodstock/Go Bloodstock.

Widden also enjoyed success with Zoustar selling a colt from Via Laurentina for $500,000 to James Harron Bloodstock.

Sebring had big numbers at this sale and strong demand saw 38 yearlings sold at an average $242,632. His best result at $825,000 was for a colt from She’s Got Gears consigned by Gilgai Farm and bought by China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock/ Stonestreet.

Star Witness provided a great return for his supporters with 12 yearlings averaging $152,083. His best result as the half-sister to Melbourne Cup winner Vow and Declare that made $320,000 for Widden Stud when bought by Spendthrift Australia.

Your Song had four yearlings sell in Book 1 at an average $121,875 with his best result a colt from proven stakes producer Xaar’s Jewel that made $220,000 for Edinglassie when bought by Viribright Racing.

Nicconi had an even split of yearlings between Book 1 and 2 and actually averaged higher in Book 2 with four yearlings averaging $108,750 with his best result a filly from Coleta that made $210,000 for Widden Stdu when bought by Simon Miller Racing making her the second highest priced filly of that session.

Newcomer Stratum Star made a splash with his lone yearling in Book 1, a three-quarter brother to stakes-winner Absolute Flirt making $180,000 for Widden Stud when bought by Laurel Oak Bloodstock.

His only yearling in Book 2, a colt from Glorious Lady also sold well fetching $110,000 for Murrulla Stud.
