Sebring Squares Up at Nine All

 In 2013

Just a day after Northern Meteor posted his ninth winner, his based barn mate Sebring levelled the score at nine all when Flying Sebring saluted at Kembla.

The Gai Waterhouse trained gelding was beaten just three lengths by his Group I placed stablemate Equator (by Northern Meteor) at his previous run so always looked a great chance in this 1200 metre maiden.

Sent out favourite, he delivered the goods in winning by half a neck for Adam Hyeronimus.

A $70,000 Magic Millions purchase for Alison and Maurice Pickering from the draft of Orange Grove Thoroughbreds, Flying Sebring is the first winner for Western Passage (USA), a half-sister to the dam of this year’s Group I Florida Derby winner Orb.

Flying Sebring is the ninth winner for Golden Slipper winner Sebring, who now shares the lead on the first season sires table by winners with Northern Meteor.

Sebring stands this spring at a fee of $38,500 and Northern Meteor at $27,500.
