First Jacquinot Weanlings Well Received
Widden Stud’s dual Group I winner Jacquinot has over 100 foals in his first crop conceived at a fee of $33,000 and the first small selection of them were offered at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale this week.
His best result came with a colt from Fastnet Rock mare Downloads that sold for $140,000.
Consigned by Lime Country Thoroughbreds, the colt was bought by WA trainer Luke Fernie and comes from the family of Group winners Musidora and Tulip.
Highest priced filly for Jacquinot was offered by Fairhill Farm with the daughter of Miss Quaintly fetching $75,000 when bought by Mulberry Racing.
Jacquinot stands at a fee of $24,200 this spring.
