Kool Debut winner for Zoustar
A $100,000 super maiden at Warwick Farm on Wednesday was a target race for astute trainer David Pfieffer and he duly got the cash with the heavily backed favourite Ice Kool.
Having his first start, three year-old Zoustar gelding Ice Kool put the writing on the wall with a recent five length trial win at Rosehill and punters were confident he could repat the effort on race day.
With Jason Collett in the saddle, Ice Kool dished out a galloping lesson to his rivals, skipping clear to win the 1000m contest by three and a half lengths in a slick 56.31 seconds, which set a new class record.
Ice Kool was passed in at Magic Millions when offered in the Widden draft and runs for a big syndicate of owners headed by Strong Bloodstock.
From day one heβs given us that something special feeling and today Ice Kool proved it. π§ π
Debut win, class record broken, and a performance that justified all the anticipation.
A serious talent heading in the right direction. βοΈπ@DavidPfieffer @widdenstud pic.twitter.com/KlkCzICxXt— Strong Bloodstock (@StrongBldStock) December 3, 2025
He banked nearly $60,000 for his first win and looks a bright prospect going forward.
Ice Kool is the second winner from stakes-winning Showcasing (GB) mare So Far Sokool, a daughter of Group III Sokool.
So Far Sokool has no yearling for the sales this year, but produced a filly by Zousain this spring.
Widden will offer a close relation to Ice Kool at MM 2026 in Lot 1024, a filly by Zousain from Showcasing (GB) mare Claudia Shiver, a three-quarter sister to So Far Sokool.
