$320,000 Record Price for Doubtland Yearling
Rick Jamieson of Gilgai Farm is renowned as one of the finest breeders in Australia and he breeds for pedigree rather than the sale ring which can deliver a few surprises.
Gilgai Farm were the leading vendor at Inglis Premier by aggregate and enjoyed terrific results with a couple of well priced Widden sires in Written By and Doubtland.
They were well rewarded for their stunning colt by young Not a Single Doubt son Doubtland from Granada Star and he attracted the interest of buyers fetching $320,000 to the bid of X Bloodstock.
The colt is a half-brother to stakes-placed Bubion and HK winner Sight Happy being the fourth foal of well related Starcraft mare Granada Star, a full sister to stakes-winner Celebrity Girl, the dam of Group I winner Instant Celebrity, who is by Doubtland’s sire Not a single Doubt.
He is the highest priced yearling for Doubtland, who stands at Widden Victoria at a fee of $13,200.
With his oldest progeny just three year-olds, Doubtland has been a sire on the radar for Gilgai Farm and Granada Star went back to Doubtland in 2024 and had a filly by him last spring.
