$1.1million Zoustar Filly Strikes First at Inglis Easter
We didn’t have to wait long to see the first million dollar yearling at Inglis Easter in Sydney on Sunday with Lot 9, the half-sister by Zoustar to this season’s Group winning juvenile Paradoxium selling for $1.1million.
Bred by Grant Bloodstock and partners and offered in the Silverdale Farm draft, she was snapped up by Yulong and is the second foal of stakes-placed Paredo, a half-sister to the dam of Group I winner Private Harry.
Rob Petith of Silverdale Farm was thrilled with the result having also sold the previous lot, a lovely Justify (USA) filly from Pantonario that made $600,000 to the bid of WA based Yarradale Stud.
Paredo was bought by Silverdale Farm for $475,000 from the 2023 Inglis Chairman’s Sale when in foal to Extreme Choice and Paradoxium was the result of the mating.
He sold for $400,000 to Bjorn Baker Racing/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd (FBAA)/Ridgmont at Magic Millions and has already won the Group II ATC Todman Stakes with a bad gate in the Golden Slipper curtailing his chances on that occasion.
“It was a really great result, she was a beautiful filly and has been right the way through,” said Petith after the $1.1million sale.
“She presented here in perfect order and Paradoxium was very timely winning the Todman and probably a bit unlucky with the gate in the Slipper, but we’re really excited to see what he can do for the Ridgmont team.
“Great to sell a horse of that quality to Yulong, so it’s fantastic.”
Paredo is just at the start of her stud career with more to come.
“She’s a gorgeous mare, a load of quality to her. She’s got a beautiful Vinnie foal (filly) on her, and she’s back in foal to Zoustar,” Petith added.
“When this filly that we sold here today was born, she was such quality that I said to Steve (Grant), we’ve got to go back to Zoustar, so it’s a great result.”
