The filly (pictured) from Group II winner Summer Sham is a full sister to Group I MVRC William Reid Stakes winner Schwarz, who retired to stud last spring, and she was snapped up by Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock for Jonathan Munz.
Jonathan Munz’s Pinceliff Racing colours have been carried by recent Widden sold stakes-winners Beskar and Napoleonic, so this filly can hopefully emulate their success.
Summer Sham has been a highly profitable mare for Widden with her previous two yearling colts selling for $1.4million and $1.55million at Inglis Easter following in the slipstream of Schwarz, who made $1.25million back in 2022.
Tracing in tail female line to the famed Shantha’s Choice, Summer Sham produced another filly by Zoustar last spring and is back in foal to him again.
The colt from Group II winner Sword of Light benefitted from a timely catalogue update when his half-brother Beskar won the Listed ATC Darby Munro Stakes and he sold for $1.35million to Yulong Investments / Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing.
Sword of Light produced a filly last spring by Zoustar and is now in foal to Too Darn Hot (GB).
Zoustar has 17 more yearlings to be offered on Monday.
