Promising Written By 2YO Dazzles on Debut
Written By is well known for his slick juveniles and one of his best has been Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Straight Charge, whose two year-old full brother made a dazzling winning debut on Sunday.
The Craig Widdison trained gelding Jarbardar was a short priced favourite for the 1000m juvenile contest at the showcase meeting at Wagga following a facile trial win last month at Corowa.
Ridden by Jason Lyon, Jarbardar was a different class to his rivals and sped clear to win by three and a half lengths.

Jarbardar was passed in at the Magic Millions shy of his $250,000 reserve when offered in the Twin Hills draft and was retained to race by his breeder Scott Robertson.
He is the third winner from three foals to race from Matryoshka, a winning half-sister by I am Invincible to Group winners Winning Rupert and Tycoon Evie.
Matryoshka has earned an upgrade in the breeding barn and a yearling colt by Zoustar bred by Scott Robertson in partnership with Widden was sold at Inglis Easter in the Widden draft for $1.45million to China Horse Club / Newgate Bloodstock & Partners.
That stunning colt was the highest priced colt by Zoustar sold in 2026.
Matryoshka produced another colt by Zoustar last spring and was then covered by the reigning champion sire again.
