Zoufame Wins $100,000 Super Maiden
The Bjorn Baker stable were hoping to win the $250,000 Magic Millions Maiden at the Gold Coast back in January with talented Zoustar gelding Zoufame and while they came up short that day running third, he did get the cash in the $100,000 Super Maiden (1100m) at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Having just his third race start, Zoufame was first up from a spell and with two brilliant trial wins this prep was ready to fire fresh.
The three year-old gelding gave Kerrin McEvoy an easy task, surging to the lead at the furlong and then bounding away to win by nearly three lengths as a hot favourite.

βHe’s a nice horse and he gave me a nice feel today and I loved the way he executed it well,β said Kerrin McEvoy.
βThat’s only his maiden win, but it was run at a nice clip and he quickened away from them easily, so he can contest better races next season, no doubt.β
Zoufame was a $500,000 Magic Millions purchase from Ridgmont for Bjorn Baker Racing/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd and is the second winner from three foals to race from Aaralyn, a winning half-sister to Group I winner Amicus and three-quarter sister-in-blood to champion sprinter and G1 sire Starspangledbanner.
Zoufame is the 155th winner of the season for Zoustar, whose progeny have racked up over $20million in earnings.
