Champion sire Zoustar has produced some outstanding fillies and mares with the Cambridge Stud owned Joliestar the best of them all and her achievements over the past 12 months were recognised on Thursday night when she was crowned both Australian Champion Sprinter and New South Wales Champion Sprinter at the 2025/26 Australian Racehorse of the Year Awards.

The glamour Chris Waller trained mare enjoyed a stellar season, recording Group I victories in the TJ Smith Stakes and Canterbury Stakes, as well as Group II successes in The Shorts and Expressway Stakes. She then capped off her campaign with a brilliant third in the Group I Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

“I want to thank Chris and James and the whole team at Waller Racing,” Sir Brendan Lindsay said.

“Jo and I love our racing, we have so much fun, and this horse has taken us on an amazing journey. We’re looking forward to when her racing career is over to get her back to Cambridge Stud and put her in the broodmare paddock and hopefully continue the journey with her.”

Joliestar is back in work at the Rosehill stable of Chris Waller with the $20million The Everest looming large on the horizon, a race she ran fifth in last year beaten just a length and a half by Ka Ying Rising.
