Impressive Debut Winner for Zoustar
An impressive debut win at Geelong for blueblood Zoustar filly Over Excited on Friday will have punters adding her to their Black Book.
Sent off favourite in the 1147m maiden, the trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman trained Over Excited was ridden like she was the best horse in the race by Damian Lane and so she proved to be.
She jumped from a wide gate and he allowed her to settle where she was comfortable albeit travelling deep all the way and after turning for home he maintained an outside passage that saw her finish closer to the outside fence than the rail.
Over Excited surged clear for a soft win scoring by nearly two lengths and all eyes will follow wherever she heads next.

Racing in the Bell River Thoroughbreds colours, she was retained to race by her breeders and is a half-sister to Group III placed Farcited being the third winner from three foals to race from fleet footed Snitzel mare I Am Excited, who won the Group I ATC The Galaxy carrying the same colours.
Sadly for connections, I Am Excited died in 2024 and Over Excited is her final foal.
Over Excited comes from a terrific female family that includes Champion 3YO Filly Atlantic Jewel (dam of Group I winner Russian Emperor) and top class Commanding Jewel with both fillies counting the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas among their feature wins.
