Hong Kong Calling for Zousain 2YOs at Inglis Ready 2 Race
For a stallion whose service fee at Widden this spring is just $22,000, Zousain had some outstanding results at the Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale on Thursday with seven youngsters averaging $189,857 highlighted by a pair of 2YOs that sold for upwards of $400,000.
Top seller for Zousain was the Prima Park consigned colt from Undoubtedly So that made $460,000 when secured by James Cummings, who now trains in Hong Kong.
The colt put his name in lights when breezing in 9.90 seconds and was one of only three horses in the sale to break 10 seconds for his 200m gallop.
He was a pinhook winner for Prima Park having been sourced from the Rosemont Stud draft at Inglis Premier for $150,000.
James Cummings will take a second Zousain back to Hong Kong as he also signed for a colt from Osaycan offered by Fernrigg Farm and sold for $150,000.
A Zousain gelding from Magic Amelia was also among the highlights of the sale when fetching $430,000 for Sullivan Sales Consignment when bought by Bridle Bloodstock, HK.
His older three year-old unnamed full brother is already in Hong Kong, so it is probably no coincidence this juvenile will be following him there.
A good looking horse, he made $375,000 at Inglis Easter this year for Wentwood Grange and is the third foal of well bred Not a Single Doubt mare Magic Amelia, who comes from an elite European Aga Khan Stud female family.
