Pinhook Winner Stars in Written By HK Double

Widden Stud’s value sire Written By featured with a winning double at Happy Valley on Wednesday evening with smart wins for Super Sixty and Virtus Glory, who looks to have a bright future.

A pinhook winner before he became a racetrack winner last night, the Ricky Yiu trained four year-old Virtus Glory opened his account as a short priced favourite in the 1200m class four event.

Second at his two previous runs this season, Virtus Glory had put the writing on the wall and duly raced clear to win by nearly two lengths at his sixth race start.

Virtus Glory was a $50,000 Magic Millions National Weanling purchase from Newhaven Park and then made $90,000 when re-offered as a yearling at Inglis Classic by Sledmere Stud.

He was then turned over again at the NZB Ready to Run Sale where he made $250,0000 for Riversley Park when bought by Ricky Yiu.

Virtus Glory is one of those horses that has made money for everyone that has come in contact with him!

He is the third winner from three foals to race from winning Fastnet Rock mare Idol, who comes from the family of stakes-winner Danehill Smile.

Virtus Glory and Super Sixty are among five HK winners for Written By from just nine runners, so it was no surprise to see his gelding from Ruby Flo attract HK interest at the Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale last week selling for $380,000 to HK trainer Douglas Whyte.

His next best result at that sale is also destined for HK with a colt from Mum’s Fault selling for $150,000 to K Lam, HK.

Written By stands at a fee of $22,000.
