Nicconi Winner for Prime
Joe O’Neill’s Prime Thoroughbreds colours were carried to victory at Warwick Farm on Wednesday by lightly raced Nicconi three year-old Stimuli, a $40,000 Inglis Easter Session II purchase from the Yarraman Park draft.
Prepared by Kris Lees, Stimuli improved on second placings at his first two runs at Taree and Scone to claim a half neck win in the 1200 metre maiden.
It’s no wonder Prime Thoroughbreds were keen to buy him as a yearling given they’ve already had success with three of his older siblings in Believe’n Achieve, Believe ‘n’ Receive and Sea Tryst, all of them multiple metropolitan winners.
Stimuli is the fifth winner from six foals to race from metro winning Mal de Mer, a Bahamian Bounty (GB) mare from the family of Queensland legend and dual Group I winner Chief de Beers.
Stimuli is another smart winner for Nicconi, who is running second to only I Am Invincible on the Australian second season sires list by winners.
