Exciting Debut Win for Wind Force
A $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Widden Stud draft, royally bred Fastnet Rock colt Wind Force cruised home to win as he pleased on debut at Pakenham on Friday.
Prepared by David Hayes and Tom Dabernig, the two year-old beat the older horses by four lengths on the synthetic track over 1200 metres as a short priced favourite.
He bounced quickly from an outside gate for Dwayne Dunn and crossed to take up the lead and from that point was never in danger, coasting along and then lengthening stride down the running under a hold.
Wind Force is bred to be good and is in the right stable as David Hayes trained his two Group I winning older siblings Niconero and our very own Nicconi, who between them won seven Group I events and well over $4million in prizemoney.
Purchased as a yearling by Tom Magnier, Wind Force runs in the Coolmore navy blue and runs for a syndicate of Coolmore partners.
He is the seventh winner for outstanding producer Nicola Lass, a Group III placed daughter of Scenic (IRE), who turns 20 this year
