Star Witness Filly Shares Top Honours at VOBIS Gold
A lovely chestnut filly by Star Witness was the top selling filly at the 2015 Inglis VOBIC Gold Yearling Sale in Victoria when fetching $90,000 to be the equal highest priced offering at the sale.
Consigned for sale by Hunter Valley based Golden Grove and knocked down to Inglis as agent, the filly was one of the few yearlings not eligible for VOBIS Gold but as a full sister to recent stakes-winner The Barrister from brilliant Group III winner Strikeline, she was a filly with a big pedigree and obvious athletic appeal.
Her sire Star Witness has been in in hot form of late adding a stakes quinella to his tally at the weekend with Pearl Star and Typhoon Witness fighting out the finish of the Listed SAJC Dequetteville Stakes.
Strikeline has been a regular visitor to Widden and has a weanling colt by Nicconi and was covered by him again last spring.
