First Hong Kong Winner for Sebring
Leading young sire Sebring broke the ice with his first Hong Kong winner when Thunder Dash scored for Ricky Yiu at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Improving on encouraging mid field finishes at his first two runs, Thunder Dash overcame a wide gate to power home and win over 1200 metres by half a length.
Thunder Dash was bought by his trainer for $130,000 at the 2013 Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale from the Hilton Thoroughbreds draft and is the first foal of Johannesburg (USA) mare Princess Ola, a daughter of Group III placed New York Style.
With overall progeny earnings topping $13million, Sebring has sired winners in Australia, South Africa, Singapore, New Zealand and now Hong Kong.
