Wednesday Widden Winners
Wednesday race meetings in Sydney and Melbourne produced a number of winners either sold/ raised at Widden with success for Labdien, Courtza King and War Jet at Warwick Farm, while Cristalina Lago saluted at Sandown.
A first starter for the Chris Waller stable Labdien (2f Stryker x Bold Moment) was a $21,000 Magic Millions Weanling Sale purchase for Debbie Kepitis and looks to have a bright future, while promising three year-old Courtza King (3c Northern Meteor x Kondari) scored for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable.
The Northern Meteor half-brother to Group I winner Hucklebuck has won two of three starts and is headed for Black Type races and like his famous older sibling was foaled and raised at Widden.
With four wins from nine starts, War Jet (4g Ear Pass (USA) x Navica) has done a great job for his trainer Joe Cleary and was a $45,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden Stud draft.
A $170,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden draft was Cristalina Lago (3f Encosta de Lago x Muzareta), who scored her second win at Sandown for the Pat Carey stable when scoring by more than a length.
As we head to the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on April 7, 8 and 9, Widden Stud graduates are in flying form!
