Juvenile Winner for Stratum
Gary Moore produced a smart winner for Stratum at Hawkesbury on Thursday when two year-old gelding Takedown scored a tenacious victory at his second start.
Ridden by Tommy Berry he stalked the leader Silverspun throughout and challenged strongly over the final furlong to grab him right on the line and win the 1100 metre maiden by a short half head.
Takedown was retained to race by his breeders Widden Stud and Robert Anderson and is the second winner for stakes-placed Zafonic mare Apamea (GB).
The current yearling from Apamea is a Redoute’s Choice filly that will be offered by Widden Stud at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale as Lot 286.
