Zoustar and Shamus Award Yearlings Find Favour
After two sessions of the 2017 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Northern Meteor’s dual Group I winning son Zoustar has moved to the top of the first season sires by average list and his barn mate Shamus Award has also made a fine impression.
Zoustar has had 20 yearlings sell so far at an average price of $265,250.
His best result to date came on Thursday with a colt (pictured) from Rossarita fetching $510,000 for Sledmere Stud when snapped up by David Redvers/ Mulcaster Bloodstock and not far behind was Turangga Farm’s half-brother to MM 2YO Classic winner Falconic from Queen of the Falls that made $450,000 when bought by the same partnership.
Zoustar has also had three further yearlings sell for $400,000 with fillies from Karalli and Mandawara (Fr) bought by McDonald Racing and Ciaron Maher Racing, while a colt from Pasar Silbano (IRE) going to David Redvers/ Mulcaster Bloodstock.
Shamus Award has had five yearlings average $191,000.
His best result so far a filly from stakes-placed Pink Siris that made $400,000 for Willow Park when snapped up by Ciaron Maher Racing/Dermot Farrington Bloodstock.
