Third Winner for Sebring
Adelaide – Golden Slipper winner Sebring posted his third winner when exciting filly Australia Day blitzed her rivals to win as she pleased on debut at Morphettville on Saturday.
Prepared on the track by Len Smith, Australia Day was up travelling second throughout before bursting clear to win the 1050 metre contest by four and a half lengths.
A $130,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Widden Stud, Australia Day is the first foal of smart Sydney metropolitan winner Helluva Party, a half-sister to stakes-winners Don Bellotto and Hysterical from the family of classy sprinter miler Triple Elegance, a Group I placed Group II winner.
Widden Stud will offer the yearling half-brother by Starcraft to Australia Day at the 2013 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale as Lot 298.
Australia Day joins fellow debut metropolitan winners Criterion and Bring a Ring to put Sebring at the top of the First Season Sires List by winners.
Sebring stands at a fee of $33,000 and has 26 yearlings heading to Magic Millions Sessions One to Five.
