Impressive Zoustar Debut Winner
Australia’s leading first season sire Zoustar added a sixth winner to his tally with an impressive debut victory at Balaklava on Wednesday for Be My Star.
Trained by Tony McEvoy, who also prepares Zoustar’s superstar filly Sunlight, Be My Star was favourite for the 1050 metre maiden and gave her rivals a galloping lesson when bolting clear to win by nearly four lengths.
A $320,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newgate Farm draft for David Redvers, Be My Star was bred by China Horse Club and partners and runs for Qatar Bloodstock and is the first winner for Charity Belle, a Not a Single Doubt daughter of stakes-winner Adagietto.
Be My Star adds to a growing list of quality winners for Zoustar, who stands at Widden Stud this spring at a fee of $60,500.
