Widden Sold Winner to Follow
Wyong – We saw some very good three year-olds step out on Saturday in Sydney and Melbourne and while this daughter of Fastnet Rock took the soft option in heading to Wyong on Sunday it might not be long before she is ready to chime in at a much higher level.
Trained by Clarry Conners for Dr and Mrs Edmund Bateman, Impetuous was resuming from a spell of 16 weeks and made light work of the Class I event over 1350 metres, cruising clear to win by two and a half lengths with Hugh Bowman in the saddle.
Impetuous has shown ability in three previous short preparations and broke her maiden at Wyong back in late October by nearly five lengths, but she has obviously returned a far stronger filly again this time around and will be headed into better company.
A $600,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Widden draft for James Harron/De Burgh Equine, Impetuous was bred by Murray Murdoch of Fig Tree Thoroughbreds and is the first foal of stakes-placed Rash Promise, a half-sister by More Than Ready (USA) to Group I winner Demerger from the family of champion filly Triscay.
Widden Stud will offer a terrific draft of 12 for the upcoming 2013 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
