$650,000 Pinhook Winner Sold by Widden
Widden Stud enjoyed a great day of trade at Magic Million Thursday and after two sessions have sold 17 yearlings for $5,275,000.
One of the real highlights of the draft was the Frosted (USA) filly from Fast Fleet that fetched $650,000 to the bid of Spendthrift Farm.
The star filly is a half-sister to five-time Group I winner Santa Ana Lane, a winner of over $7million in prizemoney and is the seventh foal of Fastnet Rock mare Fast Fleet.
She was a pinhooking success for Redwall Bloodstock, who purchased the filly for $300,000 from the Aquis draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale last year.
Fast Fleet herself was also sold last year at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $800,000 to Glenn Burrows Bloodstock / Bromfield Park and produced a filly by Zoustar last spring.
Other stars for Widden on Thursday were the I Am Invincible colt from Friday Hussy that made $750,000 when bought by China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock/WinStar and a Zoustar filly from Farasha that made $450,000 when bought by China Horse Club.
