Widden Stud will send another outstanding draft of 45 yearlings to the Gold Coast for the 2021 Magic Millions and as we head towards the Christmas holiday all yearling images are now online and can be viewed here.

Widden Stud graduates can lay claim to having racked up 13 Magic Millions race wins in the past 10 years including three of the last nine Magic Millions 2YO Classic winners – Driefontein (2012), Le Chef (2015) and of course the spectacular filly Sunlight (2018).

A $300,000 purchase for Aquis/McEvoy Mitchell Racing/Blue Sky Bstock, Sunlight would go on to be the Champion 3YO Sprinter of her generation and retired as a triple Group I winner with earnings in excess of $6.5million.

The daughter of Zoustar returned to the Gold Coast sale ring for the 2020 National Broodmare Sale and became the highest priced horse ever sold at auction in Queensland when fetching $4.2million to the bid of Tom Magnier.

Her Group III winning full sister Sisstar is the latest Widden Stud graduate to taste Magic Millions success when winning the $150,000 Magic Millions Classic (1100m) at Ballarat in November taking her overall earnings to within a whisker of $400,000.

Sissta is justifying her $600,000 price tag and promises to deliver more racetrack success as the latter part of the season unfolds.

The Widden Stud draft for Magic Millions includes yearlings by a diverse group of 23 stallions although we are proud to state nearly half of the draft is sired by our own stallions headed by Zoustar (10) and Sebring (5).
