Sebring Makes it 11
The red hot battle between our first season sires Northern Meteor and Sebring added another twist to the tale at Mornington on Tuesday when Patricia Dawn saluted to make it 11 winners for Sebring.
The Pat Hyland trained filly was second at Caulfield on debut back in December behind another Sebring filly in Kiss a Rose and was having her second run back from a spell in this 1019 metre maiden.
Sent out favourite she jumped fast for Michael Walker before being eased back to fourth and then powered to the line to win by three-quarters of a length.
Foaled and raised at Widden Stud for her breeder Robert Anderson, Patricia Dawn is the second winner for US stakes-winner Summer Girlfriend (USA), a half-sister to stakes-winners Demand Deposit and Confiding Winner.
Patricia Dawn is the latest winner for Sebring, who has now taken a one win margin over Northern Meteor to be leading Australian First Season Sire by winners.
Both stallions have runners tomorrow so stay tuned for more action!
