And Another Stakes-Winner Sold by Widden!
Adelaide – Leading trainer Peter Moody is never afraid to travel his horses looking for the perfect race and he found something just right for three year-old Exceed and Excel gelding Planet Voyage, who took out the Listed SAJC Manihi Classic at Morphettville on Saturday.
A last start winner at Caulfield, Planet Voyage ran right up to that form in outgunning his rivals to win the 1000 metre sprint by a neck, his overall record now a remarkably consistent five wins and seven placings from 15 starts with prizemoney $256,150.
A $190,000 purchase from the Widden Stud draft at Magic Millions, Planet Voyage was bred by Gooree Stud and consigned for sale by Widden as was smart Brisbane stakes-winning juvenile Sir Moments, who won the Listed BRC Dalrello Stakes at Doomben earlier in the day.
Planet Voyage is the first foal for Group III winning Thunder Gulch (USA) mare Pasikatera, who comes from the family of dual Group I winner Tempest Morn.
The current yearling from Pasikatera, a filly by Encosta de Lago was also sold by Widden for Gooree at the Magic Millions this year for $65,000 to Danny O’Brien.
