14th Winner for Sebring
Perth – Golden Slipper winner Sebring was not satisfied with one Wednesday winner after Pitcrew scored at Canterbury, so he kicked on to make it a double when Super Eighty Eight won on debut at Belmont in Perth.
Prepared by Chris Gangemi, Super Eighty Eight was sent out favourite and led all the way to win the 1000 metre dash by half a length.
A $100,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Glastonbury Farm, Super Eighty Eight is the first winner for Cataclopse, an unraced sibling to Group I winner Greene Street and Group III winner Cateclipse.
Super Eighty Eight is the 14th winner for Sebring and puts him one winner ahead of Northern Meteor in the battle to be the leading first season sire by Australian winners.
Northern Meteor has 13 Australian winners and one in Singapore to give him a total of 14.
Both stallions will stand with us this spring, Sebring at a fee of $38,500 and Northern Meteor at $27,500.
