Juvenile Debut Winner for Snippetson
The juvenile event at Ballarat on Thursday was won by Snippetson colt Symphonix, who landed some big bets in scoring by a neck over the favourite Stingray.
Prepared by Darren Weir for a syndicate led by OTI Racing, Symphonix won the 1000 metre dash by a neck under Brad Rawiller.
“We had some issues with him as he liked to buck,” said Darren Weir.
“I don’t train a lot of two year-olds, but he’s just wanted to do it and be here, aside from the bucking which we have now sorted out.”
Symphonix is the first winner for metropolitan winning Danroad mare Kerilla, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Bon Cher from the family of champion racehorse and sire Lonhro.
His sire Snippetson stands at Widden Stud at the value fee of $9,900.
