Seven for Sebring

Sebring has had a busy month with seven winners in October, the most recent coming at Bendigo on Wednesday where three year-old gelding Gabble broke his maiden in good style.

Improving on his debut second at the same venue on October 19, the Shane Fliedner trained Gabble overcame the outside gate to win over 1400 metres by three-quarters of a length.

A $40,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Ascot Racing from the Widden Stud draft, Gabble was bred by long time Widden Stud client Bill Frost and his family and is a half-brother to Group III placed Tariana.

He is the second winner for Gabrieli, a Red Ransom (USA) grand-daughter of  US Group II winner Queen Alexandra.

Sebring will have his first Derby runner this Saturday with the David Payne trained Criterion set to take on the Group I VRC Victoria Derby after finishing a fine second in the Group I ATC Spring Champion Stakes.
