Dayita Strikes From
Taking out the open mares event over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley on Saturday was the talented Peter Moody trained mare Dayita, an $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the draft of Widden Stud.
A daughter of champion Queensland sire Show a Heart, Dayita had not won since the start of the season back in August last year, but found her best form to overpower her rivals and win by the best part of a length.
Dayita has the overall record of six wins and three placings from 20 starts with prizemoney topping $246,000.
Bred by long time Widden Stud client Robert Anderson, Dayita is the first foal of the winning Testa Rossa mare Stellana, who comes from the family of stakes-winners Delgara and Inkster.
Stellana has a yearling colt by Widden Stud’s promising young sire Dreamscape and is due to foal to another of our young sires in Tickets this spring.
