Written By Leads by Winners
The Australian second crop sires table is a very even one at present and on the score of winners it’s Widden Stud’s Written By leading the way with a quinella at Hawkesbury on Thursday giving him his eighth winner of the new season.
Trained by Robert and Luke Price, three year-old filly Diamond Lucy had placed at her two previous starts and was too good in the 1300m maiden, scoring by three quarters of a length over Written By gelding Pennart with more than two lengths back to the third horse.
Season winner #8 for Written By – and the quinella too!

Diamond Lucy was a $40,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Widden Stud draft for Glenn and Viva Williams and is the second winner from Love Lucille, a half-sister to Group II winner Scarlet Rain.
Standing at a fee of $27,500, Written By sits on eight winners this season, three in advance of four stallions on five winners each.
