Promising Winner for Trapeze Artist
Widden Stud’s Trapeze Artist is the leading second crop sire by winenrs and earnings and he also gave us a Breednet One to Watch on Sunday with an impressive maiden winner in the Star Thoroughbreds colours.
Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by Zac Lloyd, three year-old filly Concello was having her second start in the 1600m maiden and was sent out favourite after a first up sixth at Canterbury last month.
She enjoyed a step up in trip to chime in with a big finish and run clear to win by three and a half lengths.
Appreciating the step up to 1600m, @StarTbreds' 3yo Trapeze Artist filly Concello bounded away from her rivals @hawkesburyrc with the @cwallerracing-trained @mmsnippets grad winning by more than 3 lens with @ZacLloydx in the saddle.@widdenstud @FBAA_agents @anz_news @TTRAusNZ pic.twitter.com/d4uHHbRES8

A $210,000 Magic Millions purchase for Star Thoroughbreds/Randwick Bloodstock Agency from the Ashleigh Thoroughbreds draft, Concello is the third winner and final foal from well bred Encosta de Lago mare Senta Helga (deceased in 2020), a winning sister to champion Hong Kong Stayer Liberator and to the dam of Group II winner Etana.
The family has produced two new stakes performed fillies in recent weeks in Kiwi based stakes-winning three year-old Glamour Tycoon and Nymphadora, who was a fast finishing third in the $500,000 Inglis Nursery RL on Saturday.
Concello is the 19th Australian winner of the season for Trapeze Artist, who has 21 entries for Magic Millions and 17 for Inglis Classic.
