Brilliant Group Two Winner for Nicconi

 In 2015

Former brilliant sprinter Nicconi added a second Group II winner to his tally when improving sprinter Nicoscene powered home from back in the field to score an explosive win in the Group II SAJC William Hill Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday.

Prepared by Lee and Anthony Freedman, Nicoscene hadn’t missed a place in four previous runs this preparation and was rewarded for his efforts with this well-deserved win.

He settled near the tail of the field and unleashed a big finish to charge home and win the 1200 metre sprint by a length.

An $85,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the draft of Musk Creek Farm for his trainer and Michael Wallace Bloodstock, Nicoscene runs for a big group of very happy owners and has won four races and placed six times from 12 starts earning nearly $350,000 in prizemoney.

Nicoscene was a successful pinhook for Musk Creek, who purchased him at the Inglis Weanling Sale from the draft of Sefton Park Stud for $23,000.

Bred by Etak Thoroughbreds, Nicoscene is one of three winners from Citiscene, a half-sister by Snippets to South African Group III winner Royalsecuritybaby from the family of Group I AJC Australian Oaks winner Savana City.

Nicoscene is the second stakes-winner for Nicconi joining Chill Party and is one of 33 Australian winners for him this season.

Nicconi is up running second to only I Am Invincible on the Leading Second Sires List by winners and stands at a fee of $11,000.
