Grafton – Progressive Stratum sprinter Big Bonanza ran the race of his life at Grafton on Wednesday to beat all bar Youthful Jack in the Listed Ramornie Handicap.

The Don Robb trained gelding looked good when bolting in at Rosehill last start and handled the step up to stakes company to run a terrific race, hitting the front in the straight before being run down late by the winner, who has prizemoney earnings in excess of $1million.

Retained to race by his breeders, Big Bonanza has the overall record of nine wins and seven placings from 29 starts with prizemoney of $366,860.

He is a half-brother to stakes-placed Daunarum from the Phizam mare Gold, a half-sister to Group I winner Z’oro.

Big Bonanza is the 43rd stakes horse for Stratum, who is the most successful sire son of Redoute’s Choice.
