Group Two Goal for Sebring Filly

 In 2017

The strength of the She Will Reign form was highlighted at the Kembla meeting run at Goulburn on Thursday when classy Sebring filly Serena Bay resumed from a spell to score a dominant win, a timely update for her full sister headed to Inglis Easter for Edinburgh Park.

Prepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Serena Bay won her first two starts in November including a victory in the $150,000 ATC Golden Gift, before finishing fourth to She Will Reign and Diamond Tathagata in the $500,000 Inglis Nursery.

Spelled straight after that, Serena Bay looks to have come back in great order judging by this three and a half length win in the 1200 metre open juvenile over smart Star Witness filly Star Sensation.

Serena Bay was a $200,000 purchase for Gai Waterhouse Racing from the Edinburgh Park draft at the 2016 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and has won three of four starts earning $168,150.

The Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick on April 8 is the next target for Serena Bay.

Bred by Ian Smith, Serena Bay is from stakes-winning Dubai Destination (USA) mare Caiguna, who has two other Sebring fillies to follow– full sisters to Serena Bay – the eldest of which Edinburgh Park is offering at the 2017 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale as Lot 68.
