Demand for the progeny of our star proven sires Sebring and Star Witness was as strong as ever at the 2018 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

Sebring had 21 yearlings average $186,429 with his top seller our stunning colt from Fastnongrass (USA) that made $650,000.

The colt is from a US stakes-winning grand-daughter of First Approach, who won the Grade I Belmont Flower Bowl Stakes, so it was no surprise to see US purchasers secure the colt with Spendthrift Australia joining forces with Jon Kelly.

His highest priced filly was a lovely type from Group III winning Snitzel mare Oakleigh Girl that fetched $450,000 for Yarraman Park when secured by Jadeskye Racing/Brad Widdup Racing.

Star Witness had 12 yearlings average $165,000 with his best result coming for a typically handsome chestnut colt from Just Incredible that made $360,000 for Fernrigg Farm when snapped up by Spendthrift Australia as the very last lot in Book One.

Not far behind was his top filly at $320,000, a powerhouse bay from Group III winner Dinkum Diamond that was consigned by Widden and bought by Rick Worthington/ Scone Bloodstock.

Shamus Award also put himself into the picture with four yearlings averaging $147,500 highlighted by our colt from Group II winner Text ‘n’ Hurley that made $200,000 when bought by Phillip Stokes .

Your Song had five yearlings average $134,000 with his top seller a Widden consigned filly from Sheeznodoubt that made $250,000 when bought by MiRunners Racing No. 1.
