Widden Stud’s exciting young sire Trapeze Artist posted the single highest result for a first season sire at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on Thursday with a colt from Viviette (IRE) selling late in the sale for $330,000.

Consigned by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds, the attractive bay colt was bought by Bahen Bloodstock/ Bromfield Park Pty Ltd.

He is the first foal of Viviette, a well-bred import by Invincible Spirit that was bought by Paul Willetts Bloodstock last year from the Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $150,000 when in foal to Trapeze Artist.

Viviette is a grand-daughter of Group I winner Park Appeal, the dam of champion sire Cape Cross and grand-dam of influential sire Iffraaj, so this colt has an international pedigree with stallion appeal for the future.

Astute pinhookers Fernrigg Farm wasted no time on day one of the sale securing the very first weanling to be offered at this sale by Trapeze Artist.

Offered as Lot 4, the stylish brown colt from La Questa was bred and offered for sale by Kitchwin Hills and fetched $110,000.

He is the first foal of his dam, who is a half-sister to celebrated producer Courgette, the dam of Golden Slipper winner and Champion 2YO Filly She Will Reign and Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Time to Reign.

A four time Group I winner of $5.5million, Trapeze Artist finished the day with three weanlings averaging $164,000.

Trapeze Artist stands at a fee of $66,000 this spring at Widden Stud NSW.
