Trained by Liam Howley and ridden by Winona Costin, expensive Zoustar filly Infinity Imperial was sent to Pakenham on Thursday following a debut eighth and a last start second with a step out to a staying trip proving just to her liking.

Ridden a positive race, she led for home and was strong to the line to score a dominant two length win over 2000m.

 

β€œShe kicked clear and was still full of running at the line and if they got to her she would have kicked again,” said a delighted Winona Costin.

A $900,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Torryburn Stud for Liam Howley Racing / Andrew Williams Bloodstock (FBAA) / Bevan Smith Bloodstock, Infinity Imperial is a half-sister to multiple Group winner Straight Arron and is the second winner from blueblood Tavistock mare Imperial Lass (NZ), who was second in the Group I BRC Queensland Oaks.

Imperial Lass is a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Tavago and half-sister to Group II winner La Sizeranne.Β  Second dam is Group II placed Tricia Ann, a three-quarter sister to Group I winners Grosvenor and National Gallery from a sensational female family that has produced champions Lonhro and Lankan Rupee as well as recent Group I VRC Newmarket Handicap winner Cylinder.
