Russian Camelot Debut 2YO Winner
A two year-old Russian Camelot (IRE) filly bred to win a Melbourne Cup kicked off her career with a debut win at Swan Hill on Tuesday over just 975m.
Trained by Patrick Payne and ridden by Alana Kelly, Ride Like Michelle was restrained early to settle midfield a couple off the fence and when angled into clear running in the straight she warmed to her task.
She lengthened all the way to the line to win by three-quarters of a length and will obviously appreciate further, but will end the season a winner!

Ride Like Michelle was bought by John Foote Bloodstock from the Rheinwood Pastoral draft at Inglis Classic for $90,000 and runs for So Bloodstock.
She is the first foal from well related Star Witness mare Nana Jenn, a winning sibling to Group I VRC Melbourne Cup winner Vow and Declare, Group III SAJC Fillies Classic winner Litzdeel and stakes-winning stayer Lycurgus.
Ride Like Michelle has the pedigree to suggest her best is very much to come with maturity and a step up in trip sure to bring out her potential.
She is the 19th winner this season for dual Group I winner Russian Camelot, whose oldest progeny are about to turn four.
He is the only son at stud in Australia of elite staying European staying sire Camelot and stands at Widden Victoria this spring at a fee of $11,000.
