Spring Stakes Goal for Stamina

 In 2013

Sydney – Sebring started the day with a winner at Rosehill on Saturday when the Peter Moody trained Stamina edged out high priced colt Bull Point to win by a short half head.

A winner at Kembla back in June, the Peter Moody trained Stamina had been second in two subsequent runs before coming into this 1400 metre assignment off a 35 day break.

He was heavily backed and justified the support when charging home late to nail Magic Millions sale-topper Bull Point on the line.

“He showed a great turn of foot and was held up getting a run, so it was a great effort,” said stable foreman Claire Cunningham.

“We’ll look at the Spring Stakes (Group III) at Newcastle over a mile for his next start.”

Already a winner of $110,000 in prizemoney with two wins and three placings from just seven starts, Stamina was a $100,000 Inglis Easter purchase for his trainer from the draft of Rheinwood Pastoral.

He is the fourth winner from four foals to race from stakes-placed Sky Risks (FR), who comes from the family of champion two year-old Hasna.

Sky Risks has a yearling filly by Stratum, but unfortunately missed to Sebring last spring.
