Coming off a hot weekend of racing in which he sired three Group winners in two countries, Star Witness was the ‘man of the match’ at the Magic Millions 2YO’s in Training Sale where he sired the two highest priced horses at $450,000 and $315,000.

Topping the sale at $450,000, the star colt is from young Exceed and Excel mare High Aspirations and was offered by Washpool Lodge and bought by Bryan Guy.

A big handsome chestnut, he breezed in 10.28 seconds.

“He’s a very strong colt,” a delighted Bryan Guy said. “He was one of those horses you couldn’t help but like.”

“I’m delighted to have been able to purchase him – a great type of horse who breezed terrific and looks a great prospect.”

“The way he walked showed a real purpose to be a racehorse,” Guy added.

Singapore based buyer Constance Cheng purchased the Star Witness colt from Ellamotion for $315,000 after fierce bidding involving a number of prospective buyers.

Cheng said she was delighted to secure her number one pick of the sale and revealed the colt offered by Aquis Farm was a birthday present for her partner.

“He’s a strong, well built colt and a brilliant mover,” Cheng said. “I’m delighted to have purchased who I thought was the standout horse of the sale.

“He looks an early two-year-old type and has a great temperament. I’m very happy.”

Also from a daughter of Exceed and Excel, he breezed in 10.32 seconds.
