A huge syndicate of Tricolours Racing owners had reason for post Christmas celebrations when their talented Star Witness mare Threeood scored a valuable victory in the Group III Bell of the Turf Stakes (1600m) at Gosford on Tuesday.

Originally trained in Victoria by Mick Price, Threeood was switched to Joe Pride in 2019 and he has done a great job nurturing her through her classes with this assignment her first attempt at a Black Type race since joining his stable.

Threeood enjoyed a good run from barrier one with Rachel King in the saddle and cruised clear to win by a length taking her overall record to sic wins and nine placings from 28 starts with prizemoney topping $343,000.

Bred by Gilgai Farm, Threeood is a half-sister to stakes-placed Infinite Wisdom and is the best of three winners from Sencircles, an unraced half-sister by Street Sense (USA) to Group III winner Decircles from the family of champions Elvstroem, Haradasun, Starspangledbanner and Highland Reel (IRE).
