Easy in the market, the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained Trapeze Artist colt Tumbling could not have been more impressive when winning easily on debut at Ballarat on Tuesday.

Tumbling hit top gear over the final furlong to power clear of his rivals and win by two lengths for Beau Mertens.

A $650,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Vinery Stud draft, Tumbling holds an entry for the Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes on April 1.

He was a successful pinhook having been purchased for $330,000 from the Three Bridges draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale by Bahen Bloodstock/Bromfield Park Pty Ltd.

Tumbling is the first foal from Viviette (IRE), an unraced half-sister by Invincible Spirit to Group III placed Halimi from Group III winner Vincennes, a daughter of Champion Filly Park Appeal.

This is the family of influential sires Cape Cross and Iffraaj as well as Champion Sprinter Diktat, so Tumbling has a quality pedigree to back him up.

Tumbling is the fifth winner for Widden Stud’s exciting young sire Trapeze Artist, who will have a runner in the Golden Slipper on Saturday with talented filly Facile set to take her place in the $5million race.
