Widden Stud Enjoy Premier Success

Widden Stud enjoyed good success at the 2020 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Victoria selling 10 yearlings for $1,285,000 with a Zoustar filly from Our Drahma Queen the highlight when fetching $220,000.

The second foal of a winning half-sister to dual Group I winner Suavito, she was purchased by Anthony Cummings and was the highest priced yearling at the sale for Zoustar, who was the second leading sire by aggregate with 18 yearlings generating $2,150,000 in turnover.

Selling for the same amount was a Savabeel colt from stakes-winner Keyarna Blue that was purchased by Wattle Bloodstock / HBL Racing.

Widden based sires also made their mark at Premier with Nicconi continuing his run of sale ring success this year with five yearlings averaging $164,000 highlighted by a filly from Lady Amanda that made $260,000 for Blue Gum Farm when bought by G Tao.

Sebring had 12 yearlings average $131,250 with his top seller a filly from Amo Ami Ama that made $230,000 for Milburn Creek when secured by Cumani Racing/ Boomer Bloodstock.

Star Witness had eight yearlings average $99,375 with his top seller a colt from Fiery Jest that made $200,000 for Longwood Thoroughbred Farm when bought by Hawkes Racing.
