Star Witness Filly Salutes

 In 2016

Star Witness is the leading Australian Second Season Sire by winners and featured at Kembla on Wednesday with talented three year-old filly Dixie Chick scoring her second win from just three starts as favourite.

The David Pfieffer trained filly was an eye catching debut winner at the Beaumont track in Newcastle last month and then finished fourth at Warwick Farm after missing the kick.

Away on terms this time, she settled at the rear for Tommy Berry and charged home to win by a neck over 1200 metres.

Passed in shy of her $100,000 reserve by Bendaree Park Stud at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Dixie Chick is a half-sister to Hong Kong stakes performer Flagship Shine and is the fourth winner from four foals to race from good producer Dixie Paradise (USA).

Dixie Chick was one of two winners on Wednesday with Star Witness, who also scored at Balaklava with three year-old gelding Defence Witness.
